In the School of Engineering, Design & Technology we have an excellent graduate employment record and the following MEng/BEng degree courses are accredited by the respective Professional Institutions leading to Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status:-

Educational requirements towards qualifying as a Chartered Engineer/ Incorporated Engineer

 

 

 

CEng (Chartered Engineer)

 

To achieve Chartered Engineer status the following professionally accredited degrees are required:-

 

sm-bulletMEng (Master of Engineering) - Four-year programme providing all the formal educational requirements in order to apply for CEng registration;

sm-bulletBEng (Bachelor of Engineering) - A three-year programme which provides partial fulfillment of the educational requirements for CEng registration.

sm-bulletA programme of accrediteed Further Learning will then be required in order to achieve the equivalent MEng level.

sm-bulletMSc (Master of Science) - Accredited programme of Further Learning for CEng registration.

 

 

 

 

 

 

IEng (Incorporated Engineer)

 

To achieve Incorporated Engineer status the following professionally accredited degrees are required:-

 

BSc (Bachelor of Science) - This meets the educational requirements for IEng status

MEng and BEng that are accredited for CEng also satisfy the educational requirements for IEng

CEng Registration: the qualifications listed below exemplify required knowledge & understanding for Chartered Engineers

 

sm-bulletAn accredited Bachelors degree with honours in engineering or technology, plus either an appropriate Masters degree accredited by a professional engineering institution, or appropriate further learning to Masters level;

sm-bulletAn accredited integrated MEng degree.
